Hi Winfried,
Thank you for informing me about the Microsoft update, kb4039884. Installing it fixed my auxiliary monitor's graphics disaster. Image editors work normally and FrameMaker doesn't crash on graphics anymore in my auxiliary monitor.

Hi Kevin,
I had the same issue.
My second monitor is left to my main monitor and I got this security update KB4034679 installed.
Then graphics applications on the left monitor did not work properly.
Now everything works well again. Therefore I forgot what I did exactly to get it running.
I think I ran an additional update and activated the Aero Design.
(Before I had used the classic design.)

This is an "anyone found a better workaround?" question.
I know this sounds strange to those who haven't experienced it yet, but a Microsoft security update (KB4034679) in the last few months causes big problems for my left-placed auxiliary monitor. It renders all three of my image editors (PaintShop Pro, Snagit, and GIMP) almost useless in one monitor only by garbling images, misrepresenting clipboard content pasted into the editor, and refusing to refresh images properly. . . .
